Snapchat Releases Snapchat 10 An ongoing beta project for a while now, Snapchat 10 has finally been released to the public. It contains a new colorful redesigned user interface with re-positioned buttons. Along with this change in appearance comes the all-new search function. It’s now available on both iOS and Android. Snapchat’s Discover section on the other hand has been experiencing issues in relation to misleading and malicious content. The firm’s recent action to combat these types of content is by updating their content guidelines. It prohibits publishers to upload “sensitive content, including profanity, overly sexualized content, and violent content” as cover images. Violent content will have disclaimers and warning messages prior to displaying content. The firm also requires publishers to fact check before uploading their content. This is to counter the recent affliction caused by fake news plaguing several social media sites. “We take the responsibility of being a source of news, entertainment and information for our community of more than 150 million daily active Snapchatters very seriously,” a Snap spokesperson told Mashable. “Our updated Content Guidelines will help our editorial partners tell these stories.” Snapchat Expands QR Code Reach Snapchat is now allowing its users to create their own Snapcodes – their own version of QR codes. These codes will take users out of the app and to the website linked to the specified Snapcode. Users can also create their own Snapcodes by going to the app’s settings and creating them. These codes can easily be sent via text, Snap, or by taking a photo of the image. The  Snapcode Usage Guidelines don’t say anything about any website limitations or restrictions. Users are allowed to create Snapcodes for any website that they want, and Snapchat even gathers images from the site itself to fill their famous ghost logo. Brands can now also use Snapcodes to divert their followers into their external websites.
